i'm not going to blog about it until i'm more than 45 pages into it, but man.
right now, i'm compelled by the idea of "ugly feelings" in general: that the art of late modernity operates aesthetically as much through feelings such as irritation, paranoia, envy, boredom, nervousness and the like as it does through the grand passions that have animated previous aesthetic theories.
i'll write more once i've actually read the book.
does anyone know any good books on nietszche? he's totally eating my head, and i don't know a damn thing about him.
