an anecdote about King James I

from a footnote in the Prescott book:

"Nicholas Le Strange tells how the king, out hunting, 'shitte in his Breeches (according to his usual manner) and so followed the chace [chase], squeesing and charning so long, that it wrought out at the toppe of his collar; the Loard Holdernesse... smelling the business, your Highness is much polluted, sayes he; sure thou has stood on thy Head, Man, and shitt thy selfe, how it comes out at thy Cragge else? my Lerds, see our Salaman, is htis the Salaman yea talke on?'"
